Our talented 6th and 7th grade students of the Cushing Bearkat Band have once again proven their musical prowess by securing a remarkable achievement at the esteemed Soundpost Music Festival. Their extraordinary performance garnered unanimous acclaim, as they received a first division rating from all three judges.

These young musicians showcased their skills, discipline, and passion for music, leaving an indelible mark at the competition. The judges were impressed by their precision, musicality, and captivating stage presence, which propelled them to this well-deserved victory.

In addition to their musical triumphs, the Cushing Bearkat Band students were rewarded for their hard work with a memorable excursion to Splash Kingdom water park in Canton, TX. After pouring their hearts into countless rehearsals and perfecting their repertoire, this fun-filled adventure served as a delightful way to unwind and celebrate their accomplishments.

The Cushing Bearkat Band students have achieved a remarkable feat!  On Thursday, March 25th, 2024, the band participated the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading contest held in Troup, TX. The hardworking band students had been preparing for weeks, practicing tirelessly to ensure they were well-prepared for the competition.

Their hard work paid off, as the band members were awarded a 1st division rating from the judging panel. This is a remarkable achievement, demonstrating the band's musical proficiency and dedication to excellence.

The UIL Concert and Sight-Reading contest is a prestigious event, bringing together the best musicians from around the state to showcase their talents. Cushing Bearkat Band members have demonstrated that they are among the best of the best, earning high praise from the judges for their performance.

Band Director, David Applegate, expressed his pride in the students' accomplishments, saying, "Our students have put in a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication to achieve this success.
